Help - Your Own Online Music Store

What is this?
An Ucombo store is your own music download store. You sell your own music in MP3 format to fans and listeners directly. You are the owner of the store and you can ONLY sell your music. Once you set up your Ucombo store, you can link to it from your own website, myspace web page, facebook profile page, and virtually any web page.

How does it work?
Listeners and fans buy your music with their credit cards, and Ucombo.com automatically sends a download link to the buyer once payment is confirmed by your PayPal account.

What do I need in order to open my store?
You need a PayPal Premier or Business account. Both are free through paypal. Paypal Personal account will not work!

What's the advantage of setting up my own store powered by Ucombo.com?

  1. Ucombo provides all the tools you need to run your store free of charge.
  2. You don't need programming skills or hire expensive programmers to design your store.
  3. You don't even need a website in order to run your store.
  4. Ucombo powered stores can be linked from your website, Myspace, Facebook, and virtually any web pages.
  5. You get paid instantly. There's no middleman. Unlike other store systems where you only get paid once a month or when your account accumulates certain amount. Ucombo powered stores allow you to get paid immediately. You can withdraw funds the moment you log in your Paypal account.

Does Ucombo charge a commission or monthly fee?
No. It's free. Ucombo does NOT charge anything.

Why does Ucombo provide the store service for free?
Because we Ucombo folks have a passion for music.

How do I get paid?
Once the buyer pays for the download on paypal using their credit cards, you will be notified by paypal. The payment will be deposited directly and instantly into your own free PayPal account.

Do I need a credit card or bank account to sell my music on Ucombo?
No. Selling MP3 music is free on Ucombo.

Does Ucombo have access to my paypal account?
Absolutely not. Your paypal account info is yours to keep. Neither paypal nor Ucombo will ever email you asking the password or account information.

Do I decide the price?
Absolutely. It's your store. You decide the price.

How many songs can I sell?
As many as you want.

Can I sell physical CDs and T-shirts?
No. You can only sell MP3 files.

I want to show only a short demo of the song that I'm selling.
It's totally up to you how you want to showcase your music. You can choose to showcase a demo of 5%, 10% or 25% of the song that you're selling. Please note: Once you upload a song in your "Studio", it becomes available for streaming, linking, and embedding even if you adjust the duration to be a short demo. It is highly recommended that you limit the duration of the audio samples that you want to sell so only a short demo will be shown to the listeners. The full version songs are recommended for free downloading.

If a customer emails me for help with downloading the file, what do I do?
Once a payment has been verified by Paypal, Ucombo will send an automatically generated download link to the customer directly. If the customer failed to download or forgot to save the files the first time, he/she can email the artist directly. The artist can login his store management account and click on "Download Link" to generate another link and email the link to the customer. Please Note: This link will work only once. The hand generated link is only used as a backup plan.

Can customers contact Ucombo's customer service directly if they need help?
Sorry, the customers will contact the artist directly since the artists are the store owners and Ucombo provides the store service free of charge.

How do I view my store?
Login and go to "My Account". Or type in the web browser www.ucombo/your_userID/store

Once my store is set up, how do I promote it?
Now you have your own download store. Let everyone know about it. Your friend will tell his friend, his friend will tell two more friends. Keep your fans updated of your latest album release and news. Add a link to your download store from your website, blogs, myspace pages, and virtually any web page. Invite your friends to sign up ucombo accounts so they can vote for you music. The more votes you receive, the more exposure your music will receive. Ask your friends to link to your store from their web pages. Before you know it, the snowball effect will build a large fan base for your music. More promoting tips.
